These images are just so heart-wrenching.  This one is by far one of the saddest.

When I think about the parents of the 18 children killed at this horrible incident in Newtown, Connecticut this morning, I can’t help but cry.  Those parents rushed to the school to pick up their children and bring them home to safety, only to watch other parents find their children while they waited to be told their children wouldn’t be coming out.  Those parents will have to live with the pain of knowing their young children went to school like any other morning but will never be coming home again.  Those parents will have to go home and see their child’s bedroom, knowing they won’t be tucking them in and giving them goodnight kisses anymore.  Those parents will have to unwrap and return all the Christmas gifts they bought their children, knowing they were only a few days away from seeing the joy on their children’s faces when they opened them.

My heart just feels so heavy thinking of the sorrow they will have to live with every day.  I can’t even imagine how devastating this must be, and I can only hope that I will never have to know the pain of losing a child in my own life.  My thoughts and prayers go out to those parents who had to experience it today.

For those who do not know, a sick man by the name of Ryan Lanza went into a elementary school in Connecticut shot and killed 18 school children, some as young as 5. It is thought that a week previous he shot his parents. Also, they believe that there was two men, one, Ryan Lanza is dead, yet the other one hasn’t been found yet. This is especially scary because the children didn’t know what to do in a lock down emergency because they hadn’t practiced it yet. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the parents who have to bury their children right before Christmas, all the children who will have nightmares about this tragedy for years to come, the teachers who saw innocent children and coworkers die in front of them, and for the community of Newtown who will always have this tragedy in their memory and especially for the children who were taken too soon. God bless their souls.

My heart is broken. I can’t find the words. I just can’t find the comfort any longer in telling myself that is just the crime of one lunatic. For those who keep telling me this … I’ve had enough. America has had enough. The world has had enough. It’s not just one’s man mental illness anymore, this is a societal issue. There’s something vile, horrible and cruel in way too many human beings.
Reform. Mental health. Revolution. Prevention. Law. Call me a lunatic if you want, but I need us to change this screwed-up world we live in.

One could have not said it any better.
